Supported by our pastoral and tutorial system, the development of the individual is central to The King’s Learning Experience.

In an environment where an enquiring mind is encouraged and where each pupil can feel stretched but not stressed, we work hard to achieve the very best for our students.

The academic programme will be designed to encompass both depth and breadth. Alongside and complementing the requirement for students to be the best they can be, we will promote three important core themes in our educational philosophy: researching, questioning, and communicating.

Researching

The School promotes a spirit of enquiry beyond the confines of our pupils’ immediate experiences and the requirements of examination syliabuses. Through encouraging an awareness of their voyage of discovery, and helping them to develop skills that are relevant and useful, we aim to help them develop a joy of learning for learning’s sake.

Questioning

Information does not mean knowledge and knowledge does not always lead to deeper learning. In today’s world with information everywhere, it is essential that our pupils are challenged in the classrooms, debating chambers and forums to turn what they have discovered into something useful, meaningful and lasting.

Communicating

Sharing education is fundamental; it aids, reinforces and deepens learning. Pupils live together and are encouraged wherever applicable to work together in a supportive and vibrant community. They learn the skills of creative expression through art, drama, music, and sport, as well as understanding the power and responsibility of the written and spoken word.

We will provide a well-balanced (both traditional and modern) and exciting curriculum for our Pre-Prep and Prep School students,

designed to stimulate their enquiring young minds, to help them understand who they are and their place in the world. Our students will want to learn more and do more, be able to work independently and willingly.

The same spirit of thoughtful enquiry will be at the heart of our Senior School curriculum.

In addition, the students will be prepared for the International Certificates of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Exams at the age of 16. It is a qualification based on individual subjects of study, where each student takes at least 9 subjects and recognized all around the world.

Following completion of the IGCSE qualifications, we will prepare our students for either the International Advanced Level or the International Baccalaureate at the age of 18.

These are two-year pre-university qualifications, accepted by all universities in most countries around the world. We shall also help our students prepare for any university entrance exams they wish to take.
