Campus Information

The King’s School Canterbury was founded in 597 CE, making it the oldest school in the UK, and in all of Europe, and is situated in a UNESCO world heritage site. In 1541, king Henry VIII re-founded the school, and named it The King’s School, the first school in the world to be granted the privilege of bearing that name. The school received a new royal charter from king George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1946. With a long history of academic excellence, The King’s School has produced many famous alumni active in various fields, and over 130 Old King’s Scholars are listed in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Backed by centuries of history, and with its eye on the future, The King’s School is committed to nurturing the next generations of global citizens, international in their outlook and creative in their thinking.

During the Summer Programme, students stay in two-person dorms at KSC’s international college. In the safe environment of KSC’s restricted-access campus, which has round-the-clock security, our students get to experience authentic British boarding school life. The canteen provides Asian, Italian, and British food, all adjusted to the students’ age and nutritional needs, so that our students have a choice of tasty and healthy meals.
