KSS Pre-Prep: a Comprehensive Guide to our Campus and Curriculum
2024.04.26

Tucked away in a corner of bustling Shenzhen is a very special place: The King’s School Shenzhen’s Pre-Prep School. Not only is this the perfect place for young children to learn and grow, it is the starting point for their exploration of the wider world. With over 3,000 square meters of outdoor space, KSS Pre-Prep has one of the biggest outdoor areas of any international early years school in the city.

Let’s join our Co-Head of Pre-Prep, Mr. James Balcombe, on a tour of our school to get a taste of our pupils’ learning environment and the many activities that our Pre-K, K1, K2, and K3 children take part in. Along the way, he will help us understand that happy children are the best learners, and how King’s pupils learn and grow through play.

Designed with great care by the world-famous architect Cindy Walters, the classrooms at King’s Pre-Prep are full of sunlight and fresh air, so that our children spend their time in a stimulating and natural environment. Both in our classrooms and in our various other learning areas, such as the library, creator spaces, and the art and physical exercise areas, we provide our students with a learning experience that far surpasses the traditional classroom setting.

Furthermore, King’s also pays great attention to the activities that happen in our outdoor areas. The sandpit, the climbing frame, the slide, the swings, the football field, the forest area, and every other nook and cranny of our outdoor space, all are valuable in sparking the boundless creativity and curiosity of our children. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful outdoor space, allowing us to hold weekly forest classes that tie into our pupils’ passions and interests, so that they can explore nature to their hearts’ content and unlock their full potential.

Welcome to King’s, where together we will open the door to infinite possibilities!
