I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Zejun (Gary) Zhou as Head of our Primary and Middle School from 1 August 2021.

Gary was born and raised in Northern China and has worked extensively in China and overseas. He has had fifteen years of teaching experience in Chinese primary/secondary schools, eleven years of leadership experience in three leading private independent schools in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, including Deputy Director of International Student Division & Foreign Language Education Centre at Shanghai Pinghe School, Beijing Huijia Private School Primary Principal and Victoria Shanghai Academy as Secondary Deputy Principal. He has a PhD in Comparative & International Education from Indiana University Bloomington (USA), where he also had a scholarship, and in his own words, “thrives in an intercultural environment”.

He is married and the father of two children. As well as parenting, his hobbies and pastimes include badminton, meditation and cooking. 

We very much look forward to Gary’s arrival in Shenzhen. He will work with me and our excellent Primary teachers in developing our curriculum and setting up the school on our new site. These are exciting times for us. Gary is very enthusiastic about our project and fully understands our approach to education. He describes his mission as one to help make KSS a world class place for learning and growth.
