We provide a modern STEAM environment, embracing science, technology, engineering and mathematics with the arts.

In addition to a strong academic programme, we also provide a rich co-curricular programme for our pupils to participate in, including sports, music, drama, art, debating, chess competitions, community service and many after school clubs covering a wide range of interests.

For children aged 6-15, we offer a combined British and Chinese National Curriculum with subjects taught in a mixture of English and Putonghua, with English increasing in later years.

The basis for all our work will be the modern flexible curriculum models adopted by King’s in Canterbury with a strong emphasis on creativity and core skills. As a result, it will be possible to share resources and draw upon the expertise which has brought so much success in the UK. It will also mean that Chinese nationals in Grades 1-9 (UK 2-10) can fulfil all required national standards but still benefit from a broader international bilingual curriculum at the same time. International pupils will not be required to study Chinese in their same way as their national peers, but they will still benefit from being in a bilingual, bicultural environment.

In lower years, the pupils will be classroom based, but our children will make use of the extensive maker-spaces and some of the specialist areas in the senior department. As they get older, they will move classrooms to benefit from the variety of high quality spaces and teachers available.

All our pupils will study Mathematics, Chinese, English, Science, History, Computing, Technology, Art and Music together with a range of other important subject areas from the Humanities and Social Sciences. They will also have lessons in Health and Well Being and Physical Education.

Pupils will always be taught in different levels, appropriate to their background and ability, in Mathematics and Languages and later in Science.
